Governor Antonio Bonfatti, accompanied by his cabinet, headed the central tribute to the Veteran's Day and the Malvinas fallen, to commemorate the 33 anniversary of the epic at the San Martin Square in Reconquista.Bonfatti remarked at the beginning of his speech, "That April 2 marked a watershed in our history." "Together with the tribute to veterans and fallen, we should learn from this date a central lesson and the way is peace. Argentineans must be very clear that now as then, above all conflict, we must embrace the flag of peace, dialogue and coexistence", he said.
The ceremony was held in front of the memorial to the fallen and veterans at the square, where the names of the fallen from General Obligado District were written
"Those combatants - continued Bonfatti - are proof that adversity is overcome with more unity, more work with more generosity and commitment. For this reason they are a mirror in which we must reflect to overcome the difficulties which are presented as a society and that we should become stronger. Values such as unity, work, generosity and commitment should be deepened in our society to say no to violence in all its forms".
The Governor vindicated "the internal peace, described in the preamble to our Constitution; and the external peace, even when this usurpation wound remains open and when the country in conflict increases military spending in the area".
"Peace, above all, and along with it the unrestricted claim of sovereignty over the Malvinas, Georgias and Sandwich del Sur Islands," said Bonfatti to highlight "the commitment that we renew every year. So – said Bonfatti-, as we undertook last year, at the end of 2014, it was passed a law which sets the extension of benefits to ex-combatants families; and in addition, the creation of a quota to guarantee the entry to the public administration for war veterans’ children".
Also, the Governor recalled that new school classrooms will bear the name of the Santafesinos fallen in the war. “It is a commitment that continues increasing, a commitment with the Malvinas cause, war veterans and the cause of a society at peace, with dialogue, coexistence, inclusion, with integration and development", he concluded.
