Governor Maximiliano Pullaro presented the integral project for the enhancement of La Verde Lagoon, in the Department of San Cristóbal, which includes the execution of infrastructure works with the aim of promoting the tourist development of the region.
During the ceremony, which took place at the Caza y Pesca Club, the governor pointed out "the importance of the natural beauties that we have in different parts of the province of Santa Fe and that have great tourist potential. If we focus correctly, we have many opportunities to develop this industry".
In this sense, he emphasized the need to "strengthen the 9 tourist corridors that we have in the province, with the design of a tourism program that is a real public policy", pointing out that "the investment that we must make in tourism will be immensely rewarded by the economic growth of each of these regions, which will lead to employment and development".
For this reason, "the State must be there, coordinating and thinking about public policies, investing resources and carrying out the work. Here there will be a gradual investment by the State, year after year, so that together we can enrich this natural beauty. This is an opportunity for this area to have a new industry, to give the Province of Santa Fe another tourist attraction that will generate income, economic growth, and resources for the entire region," concluded Pullaro.
Tourism as a passport to development
Likewise, the Minister of Productive Development, Gustavo Puccini, emphasized that "betting on a tourism plan generates value, employment and, fundamentally, it generates roots and can make the citizens of Santa Fe know the province. That is why, from the Secretariat of Tourism, we are gathering all the secretariats of tourism of the municipalities and communities to start this type of plans, starting at home, promoting ourselves within the province", said the Minister.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Tourism, Marcela Aeberhard, pointed out that "it is an integral development plan and that is why we are working with the environment. This program is aimed at the integral tourist development of Laguna La Verde, with the infrastructure that facilitates access to the lagoon and the necessary containment to keep it at a stable level"; and emphasized that "this space will generate jobs, for being tourist hosts for the whole province of Santa Fe. Tourism is the passport to development; it generates opportunities and employment".
For his part, the Senator of the Department of San Cristóbal, Felipe Michlig, affirmed that "this space is the only natural one in the Northwest that can be carried out as a tourist attraction, as a place of rest and recreation and that has infrastructure. Here we present the commitment to develop an integral tourist project for La Verde Lagoon".
The provincial deputy, Marcelo González, said that "this is a historic opportunity to have a definitive start for all the tourist potential that this northern center has, that there is no other place of recreation like this. There is a governor who has taken the initiative and a senator who, by working together, we have been able to implement the whole project".
Finally, the president of the Villa La Verde neighborhood, Germán Pisatti, expressed his gratitude that "after a long time there are works in this place."
The Governor was accompanied by the Secretaries of Agriculture and Livestock, Ignacio Mántaras; of Productive Infrastructure, Mauricio Basso; and of Biodiversity of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Alejandro Luciani; the Municipal President of Huanqueros, Gabriel Gunzel; and the Provincial Deputy, Sofía Masutti.

The project
The more than 700 hectares of the lagoon are a natural setting for active tourism activities, sport fishing and nautical excursions. The project includes an environmental axis aimed at protecting the region's biodiversity; another for promotion, marketing and communication; and the last for infrastructure works. The works include the construction of a leveling dam to stabilize the water body so that its flow remains as stable as possible without affecting the surrounding environment, and tourist infrastructure such as signage and information booths.
