Vice Governor Carlos Fascendini headed a meeting with the Indonesian Ambassador, Jonny Sinaga. The gathering was also attended by the Undersecretary of Foreign Trade and President of Santa Fe Global, Carlos Braga, along with the CEO of the Agency, Débora Marini. The ambassador explained economic characteristics of the country and listed possible links with the province of Santa Fe.
After the meeting, carried out at Rosario stock exchange, Marini said, “Indonesia is a market largely yet to be explored by Argentineans, and even if it is somewhat better known by our province, we seek to increase our trade beyond commodities".
"Indonesia is seeking to ensure food security for its population and it can be a market of interest to food producers in our province," expanded Marini.
On his part, Braga said, "The idea is to break into new markets, which seem far away but may become potential markets. In this case, Santa Fe has already started trade relations with Indonesia, but with a very low added value.” "Therefore, we promote, through the Agency, a more intelligent approach to that market".
Being asked about Indonesia’s demand on other products, the ambassador urged exporters interested in that market to participate in the 31st Trade Expo Indonesia, which is held in Jakarta.
In the meeting also participated local authorities from the Consultative Council of Santa Fe Global: Chambers of exporters and foreign trade and the Rosario stock exchange.
