Bonfatti received a delegation of ambassadors accredited in the Republic of Argentina in Rosario. They discussed potentialities of the province, progress and challenges, with a view to strengthening collaborative bonds.
Viernes 1 de mayo de 2015 Governor Antonio Bonfatti received a delegation of ambassadors of countries from the European Union, accredited in the Republic of Argentina, which arrived in the province to participate in a seminar with authorities of the provincial government and local institutions in Rosario.
"Santa Fe has the distinction of being the only Argentine Province with a Strategic Plan, developed through 85 citizen meetings carried out in all regions of the province. “It has allowed improving health and education indicators, and carrying out strategic works in the territory", remarked Bonfatti at the meeting developed in the White Hall of the seat of Government, where the potentialities of the province, progress and challenges were addressed, with the intention of strengthening reciprocal ties of collaboration and mutual understanding between the two regions.
"This State policy resulted in indicators that show, for example, that Santa Fe according to a report of the Pan American Health Assembly is the province with the lowest infant mortality in Latin America; in the field of education, that our province is one of the three with the highest educational quality in the country; or on the other hand we have five aqueducts under construction with own budget, and that in sports, 34 per cent of young people tested for the upcoming World Olympics in Buenos Aires are from Santa Fe", detailed Bonfatti, among other data.
In this context, the Governor noted that "from the municipality of Rosario, for more than 25 years, we have been deepening cultural and economic ties with different countries of the world, especially with the European Nations. Each meeting allows us to strengthen those ties and renew the commitment to work together".
The European delegation was led by the head of the delegation of the European Union in Argentina, Alfonso Díez Torres, and the first counselor, François Roudié, was composed of the ambassadors of Germany, Bernhard Graf von Waldersee; Austria, Karin Proidl; Denmark, Grete Sillasen; Slovakia, Branislav Hitka; Spain, Estanislao de Grandes Pascual; Finland, Jukka Siukosaari; France, Jean-Michel Casa; Italy, Teresa Castaldo; United Kingdom, John Freeman; Czech Republic, Petr Kopriva; and Business Attaches from Poland and Romania, Ewa Majkut, Sena Latif; and the Netherlands Counselor, Joris W. P. Jurriens.
After the delivery of the decrees that declared "Guest of Honor" to each of the foreign diplomats, Bonfatti added that the ambassadors "represent countries that have deep roots in Santa Fe, this province has a great European tradition".
Along that same line, Diez Torres said that Santa Fe is a province "with very close ties with Europe, and has a particular relationship with the European Union, especially through various programmes of cooperation, such as the Urbal". And he added: "We have an very strong institutional link, in particular with Rosario, so being here today is extremely satisfactory and coherent".
Governor Bonfatti was accompanied by the Ministers of Government and Reform of the State, Rubén Galassi; Economy, Angel Sciara; Security, Raul Lambert; Health, Mario Drisun; Education, Claudia Balague; and Social Development, Monica Bifare
llo; the Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Innovation, David Asteggiano and the Secretary of International Affairs and Integration, María Julia Reyna.
At the end of this meeting, the delegation of European officials enjoyed a lunch at the Rosario Stock Exchange.
