Coudannes: “Pullaro returned the Monument to the Flag to all Argentinians, restoring Rosario as the heart of the nation”

The provincial spokesperson said more than 350,000 people joined the Flag Day celebrations in Rosario and noted the strong turnout for the Turismo Carretera event in Rafaela.

The spokesperson for the Government of Santa Fe, Virginia Coudannes, reported on Monday that more than 350,000 people took part in the activities organised for Flag Day in Rosario and highlighted the comprehensive restoration of the National Flag Monument, which was completed by the province after years of work having been at a standstill.

During a press conference held at the Government headquarters in Rosario, the spokesperson stated that “Governor Maximiliano Pullaro has returned the Flag Monument to all Argentinians, and Rosario has once again become the heart of the nation”.

The main event on 20 June included the official ceremony led by the President of the Nation, Javier Milei, and Governor Pullaro, marking the 206th anniversary of the death of General Manuel Belgrano. Subsequently, thousands of students from across the country took the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag, and the celebrations culminated in a massive concert at Abel Pintos.

Coudannes also recalled that the events began the previous Wednesday with the launch of the restoration and enhancement works on the National Flag Monument. The works, which had been brought to a standstill under national jurisdiction, were completed by the provincial government with an investment of over 4,000 million pesos.

“The governor took it upon himself to complete a project that had been abandoned for more than ten years, committing to an investment to restore a symbol that represents the identity of all Argentinians,” she said.

Turismo Carretera in Rafaela
During the press conference, Coudannes also spoke about the Turismo Carretera event held this Sunday at the Rafaela circuit, which attracted more than 40,000 spectators from across the country.

The official highlighted that the return of Argentine motor racing’s top category was made possible thanks to the modernisation works carried out at the historic circuit. “It was an investment undertaken by the Provincial Government in collaboration with various stakeholders. Thanks to that work, Turismo Carretera roared back to life at ‘La Invencible’,” she said.

She also highlighted the positive impact of these initiatives in terms of infrastructure, job creation, tourism and the catering sector.

The spokesperson also highlighted the massive turnout at the celebration and linked it to the reclaiming of public spaces. “Seeing families from Santa Fe taking photos at the Monument shows that residents have reclaimed these places. Today, fear has shifted to the other side,” she said.

Police Force enrolment
Later in the press conference, the spokesperson noted that enrolment opened on Monday for 1,400 cadets to join the Higher Technical Diploma in Public and Community Safety programme, a course that qualifies graduates for entry into the Santa Fe Police Force.

The call for applications will remain open until 5 August and is open to young people from across the province, regardless of gender. In addition, it includes a scholarship scheme offering up to 500,000 pesos per month for applicants from priority districts.

“A security plan is underpinned by sound police training and support for those who carry out their duties with commitment and a dedication to public service,” said Coudannes, who emphasised that the province’s security policy is based on investment, planning, data analysis and the recruitment of personnel.

Citizen ID: the key to digital procedures
Finally, the official reminded everyone that, from 1 July, all administrative procedures carried out by the provincial government will be handled exclusively online.

In this context, the Citizen ID will become an essential tool for accessing the services and platforms provided by the Santa Fe provincial government.

“For years, there has been talk of bureaucracy and delays in administrative procedures. That is why we are promoting Territorio 5.0 as the flagship initiative for the provincial government’s digital transformation,” she explained.

Currently, more than 1.7 million people already have their Citizen ID, a tool that streamlines administrative procedures and provides digital access to various public services.

Registration is free and can be completed online via the province’s Citizen Portal.
