The Ministry of Productive Development of the Province of Santa Fe held a technical talk and a round of business meetings with Pan American Energy (PAE), a key player in the exploitation of Vaca Muerta, with the aim of promoting the development of local suppliers and fostering new business opportunities. More than 200 companies were trained to become suppliers to the firm, and 40 of them participated in business rounds with Panamerican representatives.
In this regard, the Secretary of Industrial Development of Santa Fe, Guillermo Beccani, pointed out that "there are great opportunities as long as there is support from the State." To this end, "we are responding with active policies related to the development of suppliers and seeking new sources of supply so that our companies can continue working."
"We are very proud of Santa Fe's industry. We are the second largest industrial GDP and we have a diversified and powerful matrix, which will be successfully integrated into the gas, mining and oil chain, which foresees large investments," said Beccani.
Finally, he explained that during the Business Roundtable, "40 companies from the Santa Fe gas, oil and mining sector held meetings with the PAE purchasing team."
Adding value
Meanwhile, PAE's Supplier Management Leader, Emiliano Schlotthauer, specified that "we are focused on projects to expand and renovate gas and oil refineries, and on renewables, which will change Argentina's energy matrix and bring foreign currency into our country." Regarding what SMEs in Santa Fe can offer, he pointed out that the company is looking for "operational efficiency that complies with standards, but above all, efficiency in operations and costs, with safety as a priority. Then, depending on the areas we need, each company that applies must have expertise and add value to PAE and the industry."
Finally, Fisfe representative Mariano Ferrazzini highlighted the importance of meetings such as this one, which deal with emerging markets in energy, mining and renewables. "We are making all of Santa Fe's industrial complexes available to become Pan American suppliers," he said.
Business roundtable
The event combined an exhibition and exchange space, where guidelines and demands from the energy sector were presented, with a business roundtable designed to allow companies from Santa Fe to showcase their production, technological and service capabilities and explore potential commercial agreements.
Pan American Energy is one of the leading energy companies in Argentina and the region, with activities in oil and gas exploration and production, electricity generation and participation in renewable energy projects.
