Over 2,000 individuals attended the Second Santa Fe in Motion Congress in Rosario

The Province hosts a two-day event for top athletes and leaders. Minister José Goity stated, "We are investing in the future and setting a national benchmark".

The Congress includes plenary sessions, interviews, workshops and discussions.

The Provincial Government, through the Ministries of Education and Equality and Human Development, inaugurated the Second Congress of the Santa Fe en Movimiento programme on Tuesday in Rosario, which will take place in the Salón Metropolitano until Wednesday 29th, with the participation of prominent athletes and leaders from different disciplines.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Education, José Goity; authorities from the Ministry of Equality and Human Development; and the president of the Argentine Olympic Committee (COA), Mario Moccia, among others.

"A commitment to the future"

"What we are doing here is a commitment to the future. A future that we want to build collectively and that we are building, basically, by example. It is a great effort made by a community, financing it, supporting it, and I think we should value it," said the head of the Santa Fe education portfolio during the presentation.

Goity also stressed that the Congress "is a national benchmark because a political decision was made to hold it, and because we generate work and trust in those who come to support us; in those who have bet on sport as a fundamental pillar for the educational process and the prioritisation not only of physical activity, but also of the profession, of those who make physical education a reason for living, a way of teaching and of projecting themselves."

The minister stressed that "with tolerance, understanding each other, betting on sport and education, this is how this country will get out of the place it is in".
Santa Fe leads the way

The COA president said that "I believe this initiative is strategic and important for education and sport to go hand in hand and be more efficient and stronger in the training of our children. Sport is a key tool for training. As a physical education teacher, I am proud that physical education is being integrated into the rest of the system."

Moccia said he was "proud that Santa Fe is at the forefront of sports management in Argentina. There is an institutional commitment that extends from Governor Maximiliano Pullaro to all officials, and is replicated by the mayors of Rosario, Santa Fe and Rafaela, who are committed to the upcoming South American Games."

The provincial secretary for sport, Fernando Maletti, praised Santa Fe's "strategic sports plan", in which "education is the first step in getting athletes to learn, to join a club, to get excited in schools about the different sports activities that we are going to implement in our province".

The Congress

On the first day, journalist Gonzalo Bonadeo moderated interviews with former footballer Maximiliano Rodríguez, coach Gerardo "Tata" Martino and volleyball player Facundo Conte. Athletes Carlos Delfino, Magdalena Aicega, Germán Chiaraviglio, Sebastián Crismanich, Cecilia Carranza and former basketball coach Julio Lamas, among others, also participated, discussing various topics related to sport.

The Congress includes plenary sessions, interviews, workshops, and discussions on training and athletic performance, schools as breeding grounds for sport, adolescence, and digital education, among other topics, with the participation of leading professionals from various fields.

The event is attended by more than 2,000 people from the sports and education fields, including physical education teachers, coaches, physical trainers, leaders of sports federations and associations, clubs, athletes, physical education students, and the general public.
