The public holiday in October left a favourable balance for the tourism sector in Santa Fe, with booking levels of 80% in accommodation - peaks of 100% in higher category establishments in Rosario and the provincial capital - and an economic impact of close to 31,000 million pesos, exceeding projections and reaffirming the positioning of Santa Fe at the national level.
"There were more than 40 events throughout Santa Fe, including productive, cultural and sporting festivals," said the Secretary of Tourism, Marcela Aeberhard, at a conference held on Monday at the Rosario Tourist Board, along with Mayor Pablo Javkin and the Secretary of Sports and Tourism of the Municipality, Alejandra Mattheu. Aeberhard valued "nature tourism, especially in the north of Santa Fe, showed very good indicators of hotel occupancy".
To this, the official added "the department of San Cristóbal with three festivals and the epicentre in the city of Santa Fe with the Harlem Festival, with 25,000 spectators who came from provinces and even neighbouring countries, producing an impact on the entire Santa Fe area of more than 30 billion pesos".
Rosario, meanwhile, had in the same week the commemoration of the Tercentenary that gathered more than 250,000 people at the National Monument to the Flag, with a show led by Nicki Nicole, Juan Carlos Baglietto and the Provincial Symphony Orchestra; in addition to the Pre-Cosquín 2026 qualifiers and the Communities Night , with more than 25 spaces distributed throughout the city.
In addition to this, there were boat crossings from La Fluvial to the island, which registered 800 passengers throughout the weekend. There was also a Stand-Up Paddle regatta on the Paraná River and the tenth date of the National Tourism at the Juan Manuel Fangio racetrack, which attracted more than 20,000 people.
In this sense, Aeberhard valued "the alliance between the public and private sectors", as well as "a clear policy of pacification in the city of Rosario that has been given by the governor Maximiliano Pullaro and the vice-governor Gisela Scaglia", which is why while "at a national level we do not see a recovery in tourism, we see that the province is the epicentre of tourism with a very good offer", he considered.
Public space recovered by the people
The mayor of Rosario, Pablo Javkin, assured that "we are seeing a sustained growth in tourism at weekends due to sporting and cultural activities that have distributed the city's offer and allowed the occupation of public space, which we have recovered as never before" and said that "we have several events ahead of us that foresee similar weekends" because "Rosario is once again leading Argentina in its cultural offer and this has an impact on the whole province".
The president of the Business, Hotel, Gastronomic and related Civil Association of Rosario, Damian Auzunbud, meanwhile, acknowledged that "this weekend worked well all categories of hotels, showing a recovery in the entire sector", achieved from "the recovery of public space by the people".
Throughout the province
During the holiday, Santa Fe hosted more than 40 cultural, sporting and gastronomic events. Among the highlights were the National Pumpkin Festival in Ceres, the National Horse Festival in San Cristobal, the National Pig Festival in Chañar Ladeado, the October Country Fest in Funes, the Expo Artesanos in San Lorenzo, the International Literature Festival in Santa Fe, the Latin American Parachuting Championship in Rafaela and the Argentinean Surubí Fishing Contest with Return in Reconquista and Avellaneda. The latter brought together more than 400 boats and thousands of visitors, with an estimated economic impact of more than one billion pesos.
