Santa Fe companies seize opportunities in Asian market

From May 19 to 21, 14 companies from Santa Fe attended SIAL China 2025, Asia’s premier trade fair.

It was an opportunity to present Why Santa Fe, an initiative that outlines the tools available to the Government of Santa Fe for attracting investment.

Santa Fe participates in various international events through its companies' involvement in trade fairs and missions, aiming to access global markets and enhance their competitiveness. One such event is SIAL China 2025, held from May 19 to 21 in Shanghai. The Ministry of Productive Development, led by Gustavo Puccini, along with the Secretariat of Foreign Trade and Santa Fe Global, supported 14 companies specializing in meat, organic juices, dairy products, snacks, and vegetables. These companies participated in business meetings and discussions with Chinese importers.

Georgina Losada, the Secretary of Foreign Trade, stated: "SIAL China is one of the world's most significant fairs for the food and beverage sector, and Santa Fe is once again represented with a diversified and high value offering. This participation underscores our role as a driving force behind Argentine growth and pioneers in the internationalization of production."

Presentation of Why Santa Fe

The mission to China provided an opportunity to present the "Why Santa Fe" initiative. This program aims to highlight the significance of Santa Fe in Argentina's foreign trade, as it is one of the country's primary exporting provinces, particularly in agricultural products.

During the presentation at Santander Bank, the second tallest building globally, attended by investors and clients, the official outlined programmes such as Santa Fe Global, In Company, and Primeros Exportadores. She emphasized that these initiatives offer technical advice, market research, training, and access to international fairs for local businesses.

She concluded by stating, "Our primary objective is to highlight the reasons for investing in Santa Fe. We deemed it essential to collaborate with the private sector in this endeavor. This initiative is one of the 60 commercial actions we have been Santa Fe's agenda in Shanghai

Santa Fe Agenda in Shanghai

After the fair, the Santa Delegation had a busy agenda. The officials from the Government of Santa Fe met with representatives from Invest Shanghai, the agency established by the Shanghai Municipal Government to promote foreign investment in the city.

They then met with officials from the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), a key organization for promoting foreign trade, investment, and cooperation between Shanghai and the global community.

They also visited the export-oriented, high-tech Shanghai Baoshan Industrial Park, where over 200 domestic and international companies have established operations in three primary industries: auto parts, daily-use chemicals, and equipment manufacturing. It is one of the largest and most modern ports globally, facilitating more than a quarter of all cargo traffic for China, both in exports and imports.
