With the aim of promoting business diversity and fostering strategic links between sectors, the Government of Santa Fe, through the Ministry of Productive Development, together with the Argentine Confederation of Medium-sized Enterprises (CAME) and the Municipality of Santa Fe, held the second edition of "Trade and Industry in the Centre".
The event, held this Tuesday at the Manuel Belgrano Station, reaffirms the commitment of the Governor Maximiliano Pullaro's administration with the productive development and the articulation between key actors to boost economic growth and competitiveness of the sector.
"The event included more than 5,000 business rounds, 50 buyers and the participation of 400 companies from 13 provinces showing their products, generating concrete opportunities that have a direct impact on the growth of the sector. The most remarkable thing is that 45% of the participants closed deals on the same day, a fact that demonstrates the effectiveness of this space to strengthen trade and national production," said the head of the productive portfolio, Gustavo Puccini.
On this occasion, the focus was on the food and mass consumption sector, bringing together representatives of supermarkets, distributors, self-service stores and industries in the sector. The main objective was to make it easier for local products, recognised for their quality and competitiveness, to reach more shelves and consumers.
It is worth noting that this edition doubled the number of attendees. "The second business round was a resounding success. It grew in terms of the number of companies participating, the number of supermarkets from other provinces and we have surpassed the business round held in Rosario last year by 200 companies. In 100 worktables, some supermarkets had 60 interviews," said the Secretary of Domestic Trade and Services, Gustavo Rezzoaglio.
There were 22 sectors that took part in the event: Food, Pet food, Cleaning products, Self-service, Bazaar, Beverages, Footwear, Personal care, Distributor, Packaging, Packaging, Equipment, Lighting, Food importers, Clothing, Industry, Toys, Logistics, Poly-retail, Cleaning products, Services, Software, Supermarkets and Dietary supplements.
Voices in the spotlight
Agustina Vidal is from the city of Santa Fe and has her healthy food business "Uff", dedicated to making vegetarian hamburgers, cannelloni and empanadas, among other things: "We are very happy, it was a very necessary event and even more so in these somewhat individualistic times. It was a beautiful day, with excellent organisation; these are also important spaces for entrepreneurs to interact, to get to know each other and to generate new working relationships.
I coordinated meetings with supermarkets from Rosario but, beyond the business that is done, the fact that those who produce and those who buy and sell meet is very interesting and I think it is important that it is the Province that generates these meetings".
The president of the Chamber of Supermarkets of the province, Elizabeth Raffín, said: "This second round was beautiful, very well organised and with a very interesting dynamic on the part of the suppliers, with a variety of products that we didn't know about. Many alternatives were presented, it was also very well thought out for the new consumer as there were suppliers with premixes or other types of more nutritious products, bearing in mind that nowadays healthy eating is very much encouraged. In my case, I took away a lot personally and professionally as I had almost 30 meetings, so it was a very intense and productive day".
Daniel Scarpeccio, representative of Frigorífico Lamby de Rosario, emphasised that "ours is a company in which we produce, slaughter and market heavy lamb cuts and guarantee delivery all year round; we sell to gourmet restaurants and meat boutiques in Rosario's area of influence.
Therefore, this business round allowed us to make new strategic commercial links, which enhances the development of the company. We would like to thank the Province of Santa Fe for the invitation, and we would like to highlight the excellent organisation".
