Pullaro presented 174 0Km ambulances: "It is the most important and largest purchase made by the provincial government"

The governor headed the presentation of the vehicles equipped for care with different levels of complexity, which will be distributed throughout the province. They were purchased with an investment of $ 14,540,000,000.

The award generated savings for the province of almost $1,640,000,000. "Here I see planning, a Government and a Ministry that are honest and efficient in the management of the province’s public resources," said Maximiliano Pullaro.

In the framework of the recovery of the operational capacity of the emergency and public health transfer system by the Government of Santa Fe, this Monday, Governor Maximiliano Pullaro, together with Vice Governor Gisela Scaglia, presented the new fleet of 174 0 Km vehicles, which will be distributed according to health criteria to reinforce care throughout Santa Fe.

The ambulances are part of a process that began last year with the repair and commissioning of the existing fleet of vehicles, staff training and the reorganisation of the care network, among other things.

The largest purchase in history

During the ceremony on the eastern waterfront of the city of Santa Fe, Pullaro stressed: "This a historic purchase of ambulances, making it the largest and most important purchase by the provincial government", and continued: "we are on the right path; by delivering the ambulances, I see planning, a government and a ministry that are honest and efficient in the management of the province's public resources".

The governor also assured that with the arrival of the vehicles to the different localities throughout the province, "I see doctors giving answers to the entire population; families better attended  and I see a father and a mother who are arriving at the birth of their unborn child in the time they should arrive at the public health hospitals".

Then Scaglia said, "What is happening today in Santa Fe is something that does not happen in the rest of Argentina", and at the same time he assured that it "shows that Santa Fe did it once again and was able to buy 174 ambulances, save money, not squander the funds of the people of Santa Fe and save many lives".

The Governor was accompanied by the Ministers of Health, Silvia Ciancio; of Government and Public Innovation, Fabián Bastia; of Justice and Security, Pablo Cococcioni; of Economy, Pablo Olivares; and of Equality and Human Development, Victoria Tejeda; the former Governor, Antonio Bonfatti; the Secretary General, Juan Cruz Cándido; the General Trustee of the Province, Laura Castets; senators, deputies and provincial deputies; the Secretary of Integrated Logistics and Network Articulation, Jorge Alberto Stettler; municipal officials, councillors, and regional health delegates.

For the whole province

Minister Ciancio, for her part, highlighted the fact that "this is the first time that we have managed to plan purchases with health needs in mind". And in this sense, she recalled that during 2024 "more than 400,000 health care services will be provided in the province, increasing these numbers by 40% compared to 2023" thanks to "the effort made by each of the health workers to unite the province because, no matter where you live and where you are born, we all have the same opportunities".

Finally, Juan Manuel Gálvez, operational coordinator of the Secretariat of Integrated Logistics and Network Articulation (Seliar) Rosario node, remarked that "each mobile is very good for us because these ambulances will travel throughout the province in different regions, with different needs" and will "allow us to work so that the patient can reach the most complex places and address each situation".

Efficient purchase

The tender for the units was carried out in August with an official budget of $ 16,185,000,000 for the purchase of 150 vehicles. The award was for $ 14.540.000.000.000, and allowed the addition of 24 more vehicles, and still generated a saving for the province of almost $ 1.640.000.000. With this addition, the health infrastructure is reinforced, greater integration and collaboration between localities is achieved to facilitate accessibility to the health system and the quality of care is improved.

The characteristics and equipment of the vehicles were planned with the incorporation of high and low complexity ambulances for patient transfers and minibuses for outpatients. Among the units that will have more equipment and complexity, 4x4 vehicles will be added to guarantee access to rural areas of the province.
