PEROTTI AND KATOPODIS SIGN AN AGREEMENT TO CARRY OUT DRINKING WATER AND SEWERS IN NINE CITIES IN THE PROVINCE

In addition, the governor and the minister of the nation toured the last stage of construction of the emergency hospital that stands on a sector annexed to the Eva Perón School Hospital in Granadero Baigorria.

PEROTTI AND KATOPODIS SIGN AN AGREEMENT TO CARRY OUT DRINKING WATER AND SEWERS IN NINE CITIES IN THE PROVINCE.

Governor Omar Perotti and the Minister of Public Works of the Nation, Gabriel Katopodis, signed an agreement to carry out works to provide safe water and sewage in nine cities in the province. These works will be carried out on a budget of more than 2.2 billion pesos. In addition, together with the Minister of Infrastructure, Public Services and Habitat, Silvina Frana, they toured the last stage of construction of the modular emergency hospital that stands in an annexed - and connected - sector to the Eva Perón School Hospital in Granadero Baigorria.

"We are in the final phase of this public health center; a decision taken by President Alberto Fernández where we will have a sector of intensive care and respirators that will greatly strengthen the capacity of the public sector in the province," said the representative.

He added: "Here, in Granadero Baigorria, at the entrance of the Industrial Area, in the Greater Rosario, with this enormous possibility of having facilities and infrastructure that will not only allow to face the pandemic in another way, but will be installed as an important and valuable reinforcement for this whole great region".

To close, the governor highlighted the growth of the health system in the province and asked the Santafesinos to continue with the prevention measures: "It is a valuable work that complements what has been strengthened in the rest of the province and that has allowed us, with social distancing, to gain time and increase by 50% the capacity of critical beds in the public sector. This prepares us in the best way. We hope we will have no need to use them, but it will be possible only if we keep taking care of ourselves."

In his turn, Katopodis stressed: "We are in Granadero Baigorria accompanying Governor Omar Perotti in one of the 12 modular hospitals that we are building throughout the country according to President Alberto Fernández’s commands. And we are doing so in an annexe to this important hospital in the region." He detailed: "This hospital has 24 therapy beds, 52 intermediate therapy, and will make a contribution in strengthening and expanding the entire public health network in the province."

DRINKING WATER AND SANITATION

During the tour, the governor and the holder of the national portfolio signed an agreement through which they undertake to take actions to promote the development of infrastructure, the improvement in access to safe water and sewage in different locations in the province. These works will be carried out in the cities of Rosario, Casilda, Firmat, Funes, Santa Fe, Santo Tomé, Esperanza, Rafaela and Reconquista.

To this end, the Ministry of Public Works of the Nation undertakes to manage the obtaining of an estimated amount of 2,247 million pesos, which will be intended to finance the execution of the works.

DETAIL OF WORKS

Water reinforcement in the Southeast and West Zone in Nueva Roma neighborhood in Casilda; renewal of the main sewer propulsion of the West system in Esperanza; 1ro de Mayo street collector in La Patria quarter in Firmat; sewers in the Northern Centre of Funes; and the expansion of the sewage liquid treatment plant, basic lifting work collector and Los Alamos, and sewer drive in neighbourhoods in Rafaela: Antártida, Mora and Italy.

In addition, the new treatment, collector and emptying plant, sewers in the quarters Itatí, Santa Rosa, Don Pepito, El Zorzón, Distrito IT, Villa Clelia and General Obligado in Reconquista; sewers in Belgrano Sur in Rosario; basic works in Ciudadela, Schneider, Las Flores and San Martín quarters and cloacal collector network in the Northwest of the capital city; and the aqueduct linkage network in Santo Tome.
