Lifschitz participated in the closing day of the III Climate Summit of the Americas

Governor Miguel Lifschitz, in his capacity of co-chairman for Latin America to the Under 2 Coalition, participated in the closing day of the III Climate Summit of the Americas, which took place in the city of Rosario.

It was an open and free activity in which various topics related to adaptation and mitigation to climate change were addressed in a comprehensive way. A total of 15 panels were held with more than 40 exhibitors.

Among the most renowned exhibitors were the WWF Climate and Energy Practices leader, Manuel Pulgar Vidal; President Pro Tempore Emeritus of the California Senate and S.A.R., Kevin de León; and Princess Abze Djigma, special envoy of the President of Burkina Faso for the SDGs and Climate Change, who addressed content to deepen the knowledge and commitment of experts and the general population to climate action.

"Climate change today calls for us to rethink the foundations of the energy and production system to ensure the sustainable development of the planet in the future", he said.

"In the province of Santa Fe, we are aware of the urgency and critical importance of the fight against climate change as a global threat but with local responsibility because it is in each of the territories where we can take concrete action and effective policies for these objectives".

"The struggle against climate change is not the responsibility of a specific area but is a comprehensive and cross-cutting policy that governments must take on from all walks of life. From the government of Santa Fe, we have promoted different actions, for example, the production of clean energy at the level of the consumers themselves, in an unparallel program in Argentina that is called Prosumidores", he said.

"We have taken on the challenge of playing an international role in joining the meetings of governments driving the fight against climate change. Sooner than later, all countries and regions of the world will have to take on the challenge of having 100 percent of their energy matrix with green, renewable energy", Lifschitz concluded.
