The president of Word Rugby, Sir Bill Beaumont, said the event held in Santa Fe was "one of the best" and added that the province "demonstrated the ability to host major events."
"It has clearly raised the level of the championship as an interesting proposition for supporters around the world," Beaumont added and then highlighted the work of "the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) for hosting an outstanding event for teams and supporters."
On his part, the vice-president of World Rugby, Agustín Pichot, expressed his pride in "having enjoyed such an incredible tournament in my country" and highlighted "the passion and excitement of the supporters who came to see the matches, and the warm welcome offered to the teams in the host cities of Rosario and Santa Fe. It was great joy to be part of this."
The French national team became champion of the tournament and the podium was completed by the national teams of Australian and South Africa, while Argentina finished 4th.
The tournament attracted the attention of the whole country while future rugby stars showed the best of the sport both on and off the field. The main event of the youth rugby offered many great moments, colour, and atmosphere from the noisy spectators who supported the national team in Rosario and Santa Fe; there were a high number of sold-out matches with very passionate supporters.
The relentless action of the games captivated the attention of audiences around the world, with television coverage reaching 85 territories. In France, 4.6 million spectators watched the tournament; 2.2 million of them enjoyed the final live on France 4.
There was also an impressive digital audience with more than 44 million video views recorded on World Rugby's social platforms during the tournament, an increase of 5% over 2018.
