Governor Miguel Lifschitz participated in the celebration of Israel's Independence Day held at the Zionist Union Argentina Rosario (USAR).

Yom Ha'atzmaut is the date on which Israel's Declaration of Independence is commemorated on May 14, 1948. It is celebrated on the 5th of Iyar of the Jewish calendar, the date on which David Ben-Gurion declared the end of the British Mandate and the creation of the State of Israel.

"Thanks to the authorities of the Argentine Zionist Union for inviting us to this very important and significant event in which we commemorate, here in Rosario, 71 years of the Declaration of Independence of Israel, a day that was historic for the Jewish people , after more than 2,000 years of pilgrimage around the world and when they finally found the promised land," Lifschitz said.

"These are bonds that have to do with history, with so many of our compatriots who went to live in Israel, others who go year after year to visit it and with this sporting and social institution of the Jewish community that is part of that relationship and that bond established over the course of these 71 years."

"We see with great joy how the institution has been growing with this impressive gym that they are building, in which we have had the pleasure of collaborating and that is part of the sporting universe of the city and the province; we hope to be able to share the inauguration with you," the governor concluded.
