The aim of the tour was inspecting the works, the role within the community, the environmental impact, among other variables that the French Agency considers when assessing the financing of works.
The delegation toured the Aguas Santafesinas SA plant in Rafaela, where they could examine the operation of the impulsion drinking water stations, percolating beds and discharge of effluents plant.
In the town of Angelica, they toured the premises where two impulsion stations and treatment lagoons will be built, which are part of a comprehensive project of sewers; and in San Carlos North and Centre, they visited the places where the treatment plants and the impulsion stations will be built in the context of a sewer expansion project.
Finally, they also visited Esperanza sewer system and the laboratory of quality control of the regulatory body of health services, in Rosario.
After the inspection by these works, the French Agency committee, headed by two international consultants, would develop reports to assess the financing of new sanitation projects presented by different localities of the province.
INTERNATIONAL FUNDING
Thanks to the fiscal balance of the province and the successful history of international funding in the case of the aqueducts to Desvio Arijón and Reconquest, the provincial government is managing a new loan for 100 million euros with the Agence Française for the development of sanitation works.
Currently, bill for funding is to enter the legislature, to be treated by both houses, with high chances to be passed due to the low rate of interest and the extended payback.
The French Agency for Development is the French State Bank for Development. It is a public financial institution that implements the aid policy for expansion and environmental protection, set up by the French Government 70 years ago.
The Agency finances and supports projects supported by national Governments, local governments, non-governmental organizations, banks and financial intermediaries, as well as public and private companies.
