The province signs an agreement with the Baltasar Garzón International Foundation

The provincial government signed an agreement with the Baltasar Garzón International Foundation in order to articulate the collaboration and the exchange of knowledge on addressing and preventing violence and harassment in working environments, starting from the guidelines that make up the Decent Work Agenda for the province of Santa Fe 2017-2020 and the Santa Fe Agreement.

The ceremony was carried out at the House of Government and was attended by the Ministers of Government and Reform of the State, Pablo Farías; and of Labour and Social Security, Julio Gampiero; and the Spanish jurist Baltasar Garzón.

Gampiero highlighted the participation of Garzón and said, "He enriches the joint work which we have been doing in Santa Fe", and "this agreement opens a new perspective, aiming to generate better labour conditions without harassment or violence and incorporating the human rights perspective, which is very important and we should move towards its universalization".

In his turn, Garzon said, "I have checked that in Santa Fe there is not only a legislative development but that, more importantly, there is interaction between institutions and the different stakeholders to address issues in the business field and for working in human rights standards".

"We must seize this moment and what was done in the public sector to consolidate what it has been done in the private area; human rights do not differ according to the sector. You have to be aware that the economic and financial crisis does not impact on the most vulnerable classes, and therefore that there is no more discrimination but respect for labour standards," he emphasized.

Finally, the Spanish jurist pointed out, "It is an ideal time to make this interaction, this comprehensive work that exists in Santa Fe, accompany the new legislation to eradicate workplace harassment. We want to accompany this initiative, and this is the meaning of the agreement which we have signed."
