"This week we attended the Second United Nations High-Level Conference on South-South Cooperation, held in Buenos Aires. In our case, as a Subnational State we participate because we believe in cooperation as a tool to share knowledge, skills, experiences and resources," said Lifschitz.
"In regional terms, it is worth mentioning that trade between China and Latin America and the Caribbean is at a time of great prosperity. It has increased twenty-two times in the last eight years. On this path, the Franja and Ruta 1 Initiative is an important opportunity to attract inclusive and sustainable investments, to strengthen digital and commercial connectivity between both parties, as well as the export of basic products."
"Santa Fe maintains a varied and prosperous bilateral relationship with the People's Republic of China. In Economic/Commercial matters it is the province that has exported more bovine meat (boneless and frozen), flours and soybean oil in the last two years. In this line, the Santa Fe meat sector is one of those that looks with higher expectations the future in the short and medium term with China," said the governor.
"Another issue to consider is the Chinese investments in our province, as the participation of Cofco in the acquisition of Nidera in 2017, a world leader in the field of precision agriculture, seed development and certification. In 2018, Chinese capitals allocated resources to the acquisition of fixed assets in refrigerators based in our province and have been interested in participating in PPP projects linked to the development of infrastructure within the communications and transportation sectors. "
Finally, the governor stated, "these investments have allowed continuity and dynamization of the provincial productive activity, laying the foundations for the integration of a bi-national relationship on a long-term regional scale that allows the maintenance of regional production and employment levels; it is our challenge to continue working to identify and take advantage of the complementarities between the economies of both parties, encouraging the formation of value chains through interaction with the private sector, with special attention to the SMEs".
