Lifschitz meets with transgender Spanish congresswoman Carla Antonelli

In Rosario, Governor Miguel Lifschitz met with the first transgender Spanish congresswoman, Carla Antonelli, who was elected in 2011 by the community of Madrid and has a recognized militancy for the rights of transgender people.

Lifschitz and Antonelli dialogued on the experiences carried out in the province about sexual diversity and the challenges of the lesbian, gays, bisexual, transgender and intersex groups (LGBTI).

Antonelli is the first and only female transsexual member of parliament in Spain and second in Europe. She reached the position after the autonomous elections in the Community of Madrid in 2011, by the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Social Development, Jorge Alvarez, and the Under-Secretary for Sexual Diversity Policies, Esteban Paulon.
