The Minister of the Environment of the Province of Santa Fe, Jacinto Speranza, held a working meeting with the Governor of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), José Ivo Sartori, with the aim of advancing in the creation of a reciprocal cooperation agreement for institutional strengthening.

During the conference, carried out in Porto Alegre, they also exchanged experiences for the development of an environmental, economic and social strategic plan.

"The agreement contemplates the creation of a work program to deepen the knowledge and define the common objectives and specific strategies",  pointed out Speranza and stressed its importance because it ratifies the will of Santa Fe and Rio Grande Do Sul to work together to develop actions to benefit the environment care.

Speranza also pointed out that during the conference topics such as "the Environmental qualifications, environmental insurance, licensing of rice-producing enterprises under the Plan A Toda Costa, land management, environmental education and sustainable management of natural resources were addressed.

"We all face the same types of problems and the best way to solve them is by exchanging ideas and sharing experiences," concluded the minister.

WORK AGENDA
The Santa Fe delegation participated in Cachoeirinha, together with Governor Sartori, of a technical meeting at the Riograndense Institute of Rice (Irga) Experimental Station and the official opening of the 28th Rice Harvest.

In addition, two working meetings were carried out with the Secretary of the Environment and Sustainable Development of Rio Grande do Sul, Ana Pellini, and a tour was carried out by the Institute of Technology Senai Leather and environment.

The stay also included meetings with representatives of the National Rural Learning Service (Senar), of the Agriculture Federation of Rio Grande do Sul (Farsul), and legislators with environmental competencies.

In this sense, the undersecretary of environmental management, Edgardo Seguro, described the working days as "very valuable for the exchange of knowledge between the different sectors, seeking to discuss the issue of cleaner production, its application, diffusion and possibilities oriented to industry and primary production. "

"As the government of Santa Fe, we aim to deepen the knowledge and to generate a work program, building on the existing cooperation, which allows us to obtain common and concrete benefits," he concluded.

THE AGREEMENT
The agreement aims to:
-Generate a program of work that allows to deepen the knowledge and to define the common objectives and concrete strategies.
-Reduce the environmental pollution caused by productive activities, introducing improvements to processes and products through cleaner production and environmental efficiency.
-Promote the education and dissemination of the principles of environmental protection.
-Train human resources for the protection of the environment.
-Promote sustainable consumption and the circular economy.

ATTENDEES
The activities were also attended by the provincial Deputy Director of Environmental Efficiency, Claudio Colombo; representing the Local Cleaner Production Unit of Tanneries of Santa Fe, Fernando Cremona; on behalf of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, the representatives of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Rodrigo Riso, of the Secretariat of Environment and Sustainable Development, Claudio Dilda, and the State Environmental Protection Foundation, Gabriel Simioni Ritter.
