The province participates in the 1st International Congress on Independent Living of People with Disabilities

The provincial government, through the Secretary of Inclusion for People with Disabilities, participated in Buenos Aires of the "1st International Congress on Independent Living of People with deaf-blindness and multiple disabilities of sensorial basis in Argentina". The Conference was held at the headquarters of the Council of Economic Sciences of the city of Buenos Aires.

During his speech, the Undersecretary for Inclusion of the province, Maximiliano Marc, stressed the importance of seeing-eye-dogs for people with deaf blindness and remarked, "After the experience of a faithful accompaniment by my beloved seeing-eye-dog, I can assert the importance of this assistance to perform different tasks, but especially to face our daily lives with greater autonomy and independence".

In addition, Marc referred to significant issues that should be spread in the country, as the "use of the red and white cane for people with deaf-blindness", one of the key points discussed during the Congress.

In this regard, he emphasized that today "most of people do not know that who uses this stick is a person who does not see or hear, and should therefore be assisted for certain things. For this reason, we believe it is essential to focus on this issue and spread it."

After his presentation, the Undersecretary said the meeting consisted of "dialoguing, learning and promoting common interests", and also stressed: "We share experiences and practices implemented not only at family level, but also at academic, social and public level".
