Lifschitz, "The province of Santa Fe has very good opportunities to invest."

The Governor has spoken to French entrepreneurs and explained the potentialities of the province and has tempted them to make productive investments in Santa Fe.

Governor Miguel Lifschitz said, "The Province of Santa Fe has good opportunities to invest." He spoke at the San Martin Palace, the headquarters of the Argentine Chancellery, before a delegation of prominent French businessmen who came to the country in the framework of a mission organized by the High Level Business Council between Argentina and France, which has operated since May 2016.

After meeting the new French Ambassador in Argentina, Pierre Henri Guignard; and the President of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jean-Edouard De Rochebouët, the Governor stressed the "cultural and institutional importance" of that European country in our territory.

"France has a historical presence in the Argentina Republic, a strong impact on our cultural and political history and while the French community perhaps is minority with respect to the Spanish or Italian communities, from a cultural and institutional point of view, the French presence has always been very important in Argentina", said Lifschitz.

In addition, the Governor acknowledged that also French companies have had a long history in Argentina and Santa Fe. “Many of the large infrastructures which were built in Santa Fe, such as railways and ports, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries were made by French companies and from that moment until now we still have had important activities of French origin in the province of Santa Fe,” he stressed.

“We hope that in the coming years we can multiply this presence in an effort to provide the best opportunities and the best conditions from the province to the companies that want to develop productive investment projects in our territory," the Governor emphasized.

The dignitary said that the province has always favorably seen the idea of an agreement between Mercosur and the European Union, that in the previous Government unfortunately could not be moved forward, but we believe that an excellent opportunity is open now to achieve it, and we believe that this agreement will open enormous possibilities and prospects for future development and growth of economic activity in Argentina".

Before the audience, comprised of executives from the 30 major French companies, Lifschitz said: "we believe in the need for private investment and that private investment must be in tune with the public sector; there must be a shared effort between both sectors for economic development".

"We hope that the province of Santa Fe has a leading role in the future Argentina, to participate together with other provinces and the national Government in this great effort of modernization, development and social inclusion that our country needs to become an industrialized country, modern, that can ensure to all its inhabitants the best conditions of life", said the Governor.

This mission has 35 company owners, from all areas of activity, with a strong representation of sectors such as transport, infrastructure, new technologies, energy and health, as well as aeronautics, shipbuilding, supermarkets, banks, tourism, architecture and urban planning, buildings and public works, security and risk management, food and mining.

Lifschitz said that his Government expected "to receive the entrepreneurs that have interest in investing in productive activities" and that "they will have good opportunities in the province of Santa Fe".
