According to the agreement reached by the Government and the Teachers’ Guild in a Joint Committee in 2008, it was carried out the seventh selection of new applicants to teach in Rafaela.  The positions are for teachers of primary, initial and special education.

The offer of positions and lecture hours, already held in the other four provincial regions, ended in the capital city of Region 2, involving teachers in the educational regions Rafaela, San Cristóbal and San Jorge.

For the 2015 cycle, 1,009 positions and 1,420 lecture hours were offered throughout the province. The education portfolio worked to finalize the offer which had usually taken place in February, in December. The adjustment to the schedule of the contest aims to meet an organizational need of educational institutions which, in this way, will get the teaching staff constituted at the beginning of the school year.

CLEAR PROCESSES

"In this way, in February 2015, teachers will begin classes in the schools they have chosen. Therefore, 2015 will reflect a wonderful process that is to have stability and predictability from each securitization. "Something that, for many years, did not exist in the province of Santa Fe: older teachers can realize this and that most of them were more than 20 years without having this security", said Balague.

The positions were created in 2008 by the committee composed of members of the Ministry of Education and the Teachers’ Guild, in order to assess the background of applicants to enter, move up and make substitutions in the provincial education system.

The initiative was developed after 14 years in which there were not offers to cover initial, primary or special education lecture hours; 15 years for the secondary level, and 23 years for the upper level.

From 2008 to the beginning of 2014, about 35,000 teachers have got job security, by means of six selection exams for Initial and Primary Levels and Adults, Artistic, and Special Levels; two selection exams for teachers of secondary level and adults; and one exam for head teachers in regular and commercial schools.

In addition, from 2013 selection of applicants are being developed to securitize positions of supervisors, in state and private schools, through public exam and merit-based selection processes for authorities of higher rank within the provincial education.

In 2014, there were promotion exams for head teachers and teachers which constitute historical reparations in the recognition of the rights of workers in education.

The call for these competitive exams was given in the context of the Teacher’s Parity Adjustment and is part of the provincial government’s policy of teaching job security.

Consequently, more than 2,000 new teachers got job security in the territory of Santa Fe.
