Governor Antonio Bonfatti led the start of the second round of Citizen Assemblies 2014 in the city of Santa Fe, during which the progresses of the Strategic Plan in the province and particularly in Region 3 were presented.

In this sense, the Governor said, "From the 346 projects formulated in December 2008, 85% have been accomplished or are underway" and pointed out that the remaining 15% "could not be started because they depend on decisions from other orbits, as for example from the national State".

"In the development of this plan – he continued - three dreams are attained: social inclusion, economic development and an integrated territory." That is what we are carrying out, through schools, hospitals, health centres, routes, electricity, and aqueducts", explained the provincial leader.

This Assembly was the number 76, and once the round is finished, 80 citizen meetings will have been carried out, which show the historical continuity of participation and planning of the territory in the province of Santa Fe since 2008.

Bonfatti recalled that "more than 30,000 people participated in the assemblies, citizens who had the opportunity to participate, comment and decide; this is fundamental. This is a State policy that gives an account of how Santa Fe will be in 2030 ".

Then, the Governor stressed the importance of this methodology of work "because the connection between democracy and society is strengthened enormously when a citizen can see that the projects are materialised".

"We should continue proposing things, creating, inventing, which is the only way to move forward. Technologies are important and innovative but cannot replace dialogue, solidarity, and I ask that we continue working with great force to build the province of coexistence and peace that we long," concluded Bonfatti.

THE PROVINCIAL STRATEGIC PLAN AS PLANNING AND CONVERGENCE OF EFFORTS

Previously, Galassi highlighted the presence "of citizens and representatives of the civil society, as it has been since the first Assembly; twice a year, in each call the citizens have crowded the hall of this school that generously provided its facilities; and in particular in this meeting, as we can analyze and learn about advances in the Provincial Strategic Plan."

"Years ago – reminded Galassi - this plan was a dream that we started to imagine together and today we will be able to have some details of its progress."  “As we always say, a Plan with ideas and contributions from our Government and the local governments, but whose strength, what is going to allow it to survive, is the invaluable contribution of citizenship", said the Minister.

In addition, Galassi remarked the importance of the "planning and the convergence of efforts between province, local governments and citizens" to deal with State policies, and with "investments that have been sustained over time".

"After seven years new challenges have emerged, new problems have arisen, but in the same way that we have planned, advanced in projects and completed works; we will work to have a society with greater coexistence and peace. We will achieve this until the last day of our Government, assuming the responsibility that the State has, calling for participation, because we are convinced that is the only way to find solutions to the problems we are facing", said the Minister.

This cycle of meetings aims to account for the progress of the Strategic Provincial Plan Vision 2030, seven years after the start of its participatory construction. This mode is intended to give continuity to the planning process that is being developed in the province of Santa Fe from continuous and relevant contributions from citizens and institutions, enriching the debate and collective reflection for the design of public policies.
