The athletes from Santa Fe who participated in the Parasuramerican Games in Chile are distinguished

The provincial delegation, composed of 10 athletes, won 22 medals, from the 112 that Argentina collected.

In Rosario, Governor Bonfatti, together with the Minister of Social Development, Mónica Bifarello, handed distinctions to 10 athletes from Santa Fe who participated in the Parasuramerican Games in Santiago de Chile.

 
The delegation that traveled to Chile won 22 medals (10 gold, ten silver, and two bronze), which gave Argentina the first place (112 medals).
 
"You should go on, you are an example of effort, discipline, and perseverance," said Bonfatti to the sportsmen, who handed a medal and a t-shirt of the province, among other gifts.
 
In the meeting, carried out at the governor’s office, also participated the Secretary of Inclusion for Disabled People, Silvia Tróccoli, and the Secretary for Sport Development, Pablo Catán, among others.
 
"From the 102 Argentinian athletes, 10 were from Santa Fe, being nearly 10 percent of the delegation, but the most significant fact is that this 10 per cent received more than 20 percent of the medals that Argentina got," said Bifarello.
 
"In recent years, Santa Fe has emphasized its commitment to inclusion, and the importance of sport as a means to promote better opportunities, and values that contribute to have a better quality of life to young people and adolescents," said Troccoli after the meeting.
 
From the Sports office it was explained that from the 10 representatives, six are part of the scholarship programme “Santa Fe + Sport”, with specific projection to Toronto 2015 Parapanamerican Games and the Paralympic Games in Rio 2016. Meanwhile, the rest is postulated for the athletic scholarships in the province, which are in the stage of evaluation.
 
PARASURAMERICAN GAMES
 
The Parasuramerican Games are a multi-disciplinary sporting event involving athletes from countries of South America. This was the first edition, and was held from 26 to 30 March in the city of Santiago, Chile, a week after the 2014 South American Games.

The 10 Santafesinos athletes are: Yanina Martínez, Sergio Vera Peralta, Joel Gabas, Fernando Carlomagno, Facundo Arregui, Bruno Lemaire, Sergio Zayas, Anabel Moro, Franco Medina and Melani Ilarione.
